Altogether Spooky Is Completed

The Fort Worth Mystery Quilt is complete except for the label.  Took a while to quilt...Ruler work and free motion quilting was done on my Baby Lock Cresendo.  Using a ruler, moving the quilt and watching what is happening is a challenge.  I'll need more practice.  Here are the photos I promised.

The back and the binding were great fun to choose.  Different than my usual back but fun!

Most of all I just love the border and the binding together.  They are totally my favorite!

This was a great project and I attempted a few new free motion quilting ideas.

This quilt definately not done by a computerize long arm.  This quilt is all me:  choosing the fabric, cutting and constructing the top, free motion quilting and binding.
It will have a new home soon,
I hope I get photos of the new owners!

Altogether Spooky Top Complete

Completed the Altogether Spooky Mystery Quilt today!  Love the colors and the completed top!

The candy corn border was just what I needed to frame this top!  I'm pleased with the outcome and can't wait to begin free motion quilting!  Not revealing the backing and the binding until the quilting is complete.  You will love it!

Step Number 3

Step number three of  Altogether Spooky Quilt is complete!

This block is definatety Halloween! Using the fabrics from my stash and not the kit has been a amusing challenge.   Perhaps the green is a bit too much, but Halloween needs purple, shocking green and orange.  This block just has to be the center medallion of the quilt.  Only two more steps in this quilt!  Can't wait to see what Step 4 looks like.

Step Number Two - Absolutely Spooky Halloween

Just completed step number two of the Absolutely Spooky Halloween Mystery Quilt.

Candy Corn ?? It has the same shape as Candy Corn but colors should be yellow, white, orange. Well maybe it's not candy corn.  Need to wait until I see the next step or maybe the joining of all the blocks together.  Just wait and see!  Step three is on Monday 8/26.

Altogether Spooky Quilt

The first clue of the 2019 Altogether Spooky Quilt is complete.  This Halloween Mystery Quilt is from the Fort Worth Fabric Studio’s

I made their Halloween Mystery Quilt last year and was so pleased with the results.

The directions are done really well.  I did not purchase the kit that was available, so I'm using the fabric from my stash.  The finished quilt will measure 35" X 35", great size for table topper or wall hanging.  Next Clue Is Monday 8/19/19.

Wheelchair Quilts for Council On Aging

I completed my donation for Council On Aging.  I made three quilts (two are pictured here).

Always great to have a quilt that features a focus fabric.  Love the butterfly print!

Wonky Stars is a scrappy quilt using light and dark scrap pieces of fabric from the big bin in my sewing room.

The quilts measure 38" X 45" and were free motion machine quilted.

I tried a new shape on this quilt.  There are ovals with a "kick out" at the end of the third circle.  Thanks Angela Walters for the video tutorial.  Also did Ribbon Candy on the border but the matching thread hides the stitching.

Wonky Stars Quilt has swirls and swirls and swirls.

The border of this quilt has Wishbone stitches.  Enjoy doing the wishbones but just can't seem to get the corners, so I made each corner with the oval shapes.  I think it looks good.

All the quilting is free motion on my Baby Lock Cresendo.  Really do hope that the Senior who receives these quilts will enjoy the love that is wrapped in the binding.

Tiny Patriotic Runner

First attempt at tiny piecing!  Used the cute patriotic owl fabric given to me to make this tiny table topper.  Squares are 3" finished.

The backing is one of my favorite fabrics - should have purchased a larger amount!

The blocks came from the Temecula Quilt Company.  Would love to do these again but I can't locate the pattern on line.   Was a joy to make and now sits on the top of a bookcase!  Happy 4th of July!

Finished this wall hanging from Bird Brain Designs.  Only took a couple of years but it's DONE and hanging.  Yeah!
