Last Project of 2020

I finished this Ten Stitch Blanket in 2020 with a whole 10 hours to spare!  Yeah Me!

This knitted lap blanket will be donated to Council on Aging to be given to a special person who will love the warmth on their knees.

Happy New Year to everyone and praying that 2021 will be much better year for everyone!  A year filled with Joy, Health and Time to spend with quilting groups, knitting groups and friends!

Just A Little Christmas

Searching through the Christmas Fabric was a blast from the past.  I decided to make a small lap quilt using some 2.5" strips and a snowman panel purchased years ago.

So this is the result, a 48" X 56" lap quilt using a variety of Christmas fabrics.

There are reindeer, snowmen, holly leaves, gingerbread men, packages, polka dots, ornaments, Santa and poinsettia!
All of these fabrics blended into one happy quilt.

Don't know when or why I bought this panel.  I love snowmen at Christmas, so I guess I had planned to do something with these happy men.  It is a perfect back!

Decided that I would sent this quilt to my sister in hopes that she will find it happy and add joy to her Christmas!

Just In Time

Secret Santa Sew Along  was a free tutorial from Temecula Quilt Company.  Loved the tiny pieces, red are 1" finished.  Great quilt to use up some of the red squares from the bin in my stash.

The back has an almost checkered appearance.  Not too "Christmasy" but still will show great for the season.

My friend Tina quilted it for me on her long arm.  Love the loops and the holly!  Too many seams for me to do on my domestic machine.
Another quilt finished in 2020!    Wonder how many more I can complete before 12/31/2020?

Scrappy Ribbon Quilt

I love using strips in my quilts.  Today's Scrappy Ribbon Quilt was the perfect use of those 2.5" strips of fabric in the bin.

This quilt was great fun to piece and more fun to quilt.  Just had to put feathers into the white strip between the ribbons.
The quilt will be donated to Western Youth Services, for a family that is struggling.
During  2020,  I'm using up all the scraps of fabric I have been hoarding!

Charm Box Quilt

A Birthday Challenge from my friend who let me choose from her fabric stash to make a charity quilt for her October birthday.  What a creative, generous, special lady.

I chose a charm pack and added fabric from my stash!  Winner Winner!  Using her stash fabric and mine too!   The completed quilt will be donated to Blue Line Kids Program.  This Charm Box Quilt is a free pattern and tutorial from Fat Quarter Shop.

I love this pattern and will make others using this pattern.  I used "scribble" quilting to machine quilt this 36" X 45" quilt.

Pleased that some little person will be able to cuddle in this crayon box, school supply and crayon colored quilt.

Pieced, Quilted, Bound

The Absolutely Autumn Quilt is Finished!   Machine Quilting was exciting but did take time, but the time and effort were worth every minute!

Here are some detailed photos of the quilting.

Can't forget the pumpkins on the back.

This quilt makes a great addition to all of my autumn quilts.  So looking forward to displaying my efforts.

Absolutely Autumn

The Absolutely Autumn quilt top is complete.  Enjoyed the adventure of making this top.  I do like Mystery Quilts.

I don't believe that you can have Autumn without pumpkins!  So I made scrappy pumpkins for the backing.

I was delighted to use some of my Fall fabrics and the pumpkins to make the back for this quilt.

I'm not going to call it a scrappy back but it is a "Custom Backing".  Next step is the free motion quilting.
