Quilted Border

Really love the beige thread on the black border.  Was so easy to see when quilting.  I will use a contrasting thread on borders or even quilts again.  This free motion pattern has become one of my favorites for a border, maybe because it's easy and always looks good. This quilt was made with all Asian Fabrics and easily done.

Celebrate America

Patriotic Table Topper Celebrating America with a new patriotic table topper! Searched in the quilt cupboard and found all the fabrics to make this topper. Red is not exactly the correct shade but I didn't have to buy anything!

Tried a new techinique for the binding. Completely done by machine, no hand stitching. This has a "piping" style which highlights the inital border. Found the directions and placed it on my Pinterest page on the Quilting Tutorial board. I'll do the again, but maybe not on a large quilt.

Patriotic Quilts are the theme for June and July.  Beginning with Flag Day and going right to the celebration of July 4th.The above quilt was made using Bonnie Hunter's free intructions. The red, white and blue are the favorite colors of my friend and retiring Kindergarten teacher. It was a gift, from our primary department teachers, to celebrate her retirment!  Celebrate America using Red, White and Blue in your favorite quilt pattern.
