Pieced, Quilted, Bound

The Absolutely Autumn Quilt is Finished!   Machine Quilting was exciting but did take time, but the time and effort were worth every minute!

Here are some detailed photos of the quilting.

Can't forget the pumpkins on the back.

This quilt makes a great addition to all of my autumn quilts.  So looking forward to displaying my efforts.

Absolutely Autumn

The Absolutely Autumn quilt top is complete.  Enjoyed the adventure of making this top.  I do like Mystery Quilts.

I don't believe that you can have Autumn without pumpkins!  So I made scrappy pumpkins for the backing.

I was delighted to use some of my Fall fabrics and the pumpkins to make the back for this quilt.

I'm not going to call it a scrappy back but it is a "Custom Backing".  Next step is the free motion quilting.

Kitchen Towel Applique

This is my newest finished project.  I received Lori Holt's Autumn templates for my birthday so I just had to make one of the quilt blocks.  Used a kitchen towel, needed a new fall accessory for the kitchen.

This is one block from Lori Holt's quilt.  I rather doubt that I will attempt the quilt, but enjoyed the project but really need to practice button hole stitch.

Absolutely Autumn Week # 4

Week #4 brings four star blocks using half square triangles.   The block was easy to complete using the Magic 8 technique.  Colors really shine in these Fall stars.

Next week the blocks will be assembled into the quilt.  I have an idea about the layout but will probably not be right.  Can't wait to assemble.

Absolutely Autumn Block # 3

The third week of the Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt is a Sunflower! I love sunflowers!  This block is a record for me....52 pieces in one block!  Whew!  The quilt has four sunflower blocks so that's 208 pieces in four blocks.

So now the quilt has maple leaves, acorns and sunflowers.  All the blocks are 10.5 inches.  Two more weeks until the reveal.  Can't wait until Monday for the next block.

Absolutely Autumn Week # 2

Acorns are the theme of Week #2 of Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt.  Total of eight acorns.

Two different color combinations make for a variety in the quilt.  The grunge fabric in the nine patch has a different appearance.   The acorns would make a cute table runner.  Still not sure if I like grunge fabric.
Wondering what week number three will be, Monday is the reveal.

Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt

Block one of the Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt is complete.  The first block (4 in total) is a maple leaf.  Loads of grunge fabric in this quilt.  This autumn mystery quilt is a creation of Forth Worth Fabric Studio's.

I have made several of their mystery quilts.  Patterns are free and the kit is reasonable.  Block number 2 posted tomorrow.  Can't Wait.
