Boo To You Halloween #4

Oh!  Surprised me that step # 4 would be a medallion!  Love the design and placement of the orange and black.  The center radiates!

Glad I saved the spider web fabric for the last step, so pleased that the fabric was a small print. Looking forward to the assembly of the quilt top.  How will it fit altogether?
Next post will have the top revealed!

Boo To You Halloween Mystery #3

BOO the third step to the Mystery quilt was flying geese!   I made 24 black and white flying geese blocks.

Each of the flying geese measure 3" X  5 ".  Easy to make and used more of the black fabric from my stash.

In making a flying geese block you trim the corners so that 1/4th inch seam is allowed. I  sewed another seam and made half square blocks that measure 2".

Now I have a big pile of black and white half squares to use in another project. Yeah! One more step to the completion of the blocks for Boo To You Mystery.

BOO for You Mystery Step #2

Step Two: Construct ten pumpkins, five orange and five black.  Ten Pumpkins completed!  Five 4 3/4" orange pumpkins

Five 4 3/4" black pumpkins.

Black pumpkins would not have been my choice. I did change it up a bit.  The pattern had the black pumpkins out of black fabric that had really small print and they all appeared similar.  That is not my style, I chose print fabrics that showed some texture.  The pumpkin stems were to be solid black but I thought checkered fabric added some whimsy!
So when all the pumpkins were completed I now like the black pumpkins best!  Can't wait until Wednesday for the next clue.

BOO to You Mystery Quilt

Today I spent some time completing the first step of the Boo to You Mystery Quilt by FORT WORTH FABRIC STUDIO -- DESIGNED BY: LINDSEY WEIGHT.  I know, I have projects that are not completed and starting another is just a bit silly.  But I just needed some fall sewing today.  Can't wait to celebrate fall and all it's glory!

Using the fabric from the fall bin, I made the first step.  Too simple not to do this block.  A bit of a frown on my face when I saw blocks at 2 1/8 inch squares.  Not Crazy about 1/8ths, but since there were only 10 blocks in the first step I decided to join this mystery.

Step one completed.. Next step tomorrow afternoon - Pumpkins YEAH!
