Ice Cream Soda English Paper Piecing

 Ice Cream Soda is a pattern by Tales of Cloth by Jodi Godfrey from England!  I fell in love with the block the first time I saw it online!

The blocks are made of three shapes, diamonds, kite shapes and crown border shape .  There are strong color combinations in each block.

When I looked at the quilt with all it's fussy cut pieces an idea popped into my head.  Make this quilt ALL ABOUT ME!   So all the block will contain items that I love and are an important part of my life!

Here are a few of the blocks I have completed and two that are a work in progress.

Linda's Birthday Quilt

 Happy Birthday Linda!  I didn't post the photos of my daughters birthday quilt, I wanted to surprise her and I knew she'd see it on my blog!

Linda loves pink and hearts!  This quilt pattern was perfect for her!

The medallion heart was a winner since it was made with pink fabric!

Borders

 So excited that I completed the corners and border on the first section of my Lucy Boston.  Whew!  I am so pleased how this section appears!  The borders need numerous gray and white elongated hexagons.  These elongated hexagons are 1".

 Using the same gray fabric and the borders was a great choice.  Now to cut some more corner squares (using the same fabric as in the blocks) and more gray elongated hexagons.  

I already have a plan for my free motion quilting design.
