Grandma Maggie's Flower Garden

So pleased with my Grandma Maggie's Flower Garden!  It is made with one inch hexagons using 30's fabric.  There are over 700 hexagons in the quilt. It's a lap sized quilt so it will be used frequently!

Some of the fabrics are vintage 30's fabrics and some are modern 30's.  I used the 30's fabrics since the pattern for Grandma's Flower Garden was issued in the 1930's.

My favorites are the vintage fabrics using, bunnies, soldiers, cabbage flowers!  It was such a joy to select the fabrics.  Special friends donated the vintage 30's for my project.  I hand pieced the hexagons and used free motion quilting to complete this quilt.

The quilt is named to honor my maternal Grandmother Maggie Steinert!  She loved flowers, was an excellent baker, and her crocheted items were marvelous!  Love and miss you, grandma!
