Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt

Block one of the Absolutely Autumn Mystery Quilt is complete.  The first block (4 in total) is a maple leaf.  Loads of grunge fabric in this quilt.  This autumn mystery quilt is a creation of Forth Worth Fabric Studio's.

I have made several of their mystery quilts.  Patterns are free and the kit is reasonable.  Block number 2 posted tomorrow.  Can't Wait.

Quarantine Quilt Challenge

While watching Leah Day's Mini Monday Block I knew I'd have to take the challenge and make the tiny Patriotic Block.   Block was 3" completed and the center pinwheel measure 1".  Oh my using 1/4' seams too!

This a special block has a possibilities!   The block would fit into the center of a star block.

Now it is a 6" square.    Next it went into a small quilt with 9 blocks and blue star sashing.

Here's the quilt completed.

Love working with tiny pieces!  Points are challenging.

More Completed Project

Here are a few completed projects during my stay at home time during COVID - 19.

Pink Tea Squares

I found these panel squares in a bag in the cupboard.  Would you believe the label on the bag said "Cloth World"?  Goodness,  Cloth World has been gone for years and years.   So I set them "Wonky" and added sashing in two colors of pink.

So enjoyed doing the free motion quilting - Wishbones and Ribbon Candy!  Was so pleased when it was completed, wish I would have done this long, long ago.

Lori Holt Flowers

I purchased Lori Holt's plastic templates in the past with the intention of making a quilt.  Well, that time passed and the quilt was never begun.  So I made the flowers and added them to a small quilt that I'll hang or use as a table topper.   Lots of hand work and machine embroidery!
Sure glad I didn't attempt the quilt.  It would probably never been completed.

Blue Scrappy Snail Trail
I have always loved the movement in the Snail Trail Quilt.  When I watched the tutorial video by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube I knew it was easier than I had anticipated.  So I got out the Blue Scrap Bin and got to work.  Here's the results.  The machine quilting was done in swirls similar to Christina Camelli's
tutorial video.

The fabric is all left overs from other projects. The square on the back was my practice square following the video. This quilt will be donated to Orange County Council on Aging, Smile Maker Program, for seniors celebrating 100 years of life.

Baby Quilt and Matching Tote

During this stay at home time with COVID-19, I just keep sewing.   Today I finished the binding on the "Ducky" quilt and matching tote that will be donated to Casa Teresa.

I think that the Ducky fabric is just sooooo cute.  Then every mom needs a tote!  I used the left over fabric squares from the Mystery Quilt and a bit of the focus fabric and made the matching tote.

My friend Tina quilted it with her long arm.  The duck motif is perfect!  Thanks Tina!

National Health Crisis - Quilting Cancelled

Our church quilting group meeting was cancelled today, Coronavirus.  We are all no longer young adults and our group meetings were cancelled until after Easter.

So at home, I dug out a UFO that was begun with a Jelly Roll I purchased at Road to California a couple of years ago.   Finished the top for a Prayer Quilt.

Then took the scraps and made a table topper with the left overs.  Cut all the squares into 2.5" and used Missour Star Quilt Company idea for Charms on Point and made a new topper.

Tomorrow is another stay at home day SO I think I'll free motion quilt the new topper.

Mystery Quilt Top Completed

If you like bright and loud, you will love this quilt!    The cheddar and the orange make the blue dazzle.  You will notice that this quilt also contains polka dots, love those polka dots!

Hopefully it will brighten a special persons day and make them smile.

Now onto the machine quilting and binding of the quilt.
