Squares And Strips

When the 2.5" square drawer is over flowing, you begin sewing the squares together.  This quilt is a variation of a standard Rail Fence quilt pattern.
Adding the black and white patterned fabric helps the colorful squares "pop".  I love color, the turquoise border, addes to the colorful squares and frames the quilt nicely.  Free motion quilting was done on the main portion of the quilt and ruler work was used on the border. Ruler work is a new learning curve for me.

This is truly a kids quilt.  The border has classic activities that all children enjoy.  Illustrations are from the children's book Diary of a Whimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.

The delightful back filled with emoyi's!! Love the back, makes me feel happy just to look at it.

This quilt has been donated to Blue Line Kids HALO program.  Quilts are given to the children as comfort.  Their police officer parent was killed in the line of duty.
