Catching Up

I've been busy catching up on projects!  Some new and some that just needed to be quilted and bound.

First:  Baby Quilt
This baby quilt was made for the daughter of one of my former first grade students.  Presley was born premature with a heart defect.

After her heart surgery and an extended stay in the hospital in LA, she is now home with her mom, dad and two brothers.  The quilt has soft pastel flowers with pink and blue check four patches.  The center pink polka dot fabric is the focus.

Second:  Scrappy Charity Quilt
Making the black and white polka dot squares bring attention to the large rectangles of fabric.  All the pieces are left overs from another quilt project.

Using my free motion quilting I added texture to the colored printed rectangles.  White areas have similar stitching. Was fun to stitch the colored rectangles!

Third:  Knitting Bag
I fell in love and purchased the Rockport Bag pattern almost a year ago.  After my surgery, I decided to make this bag out of this really cute knitting fabric.

These sheep crack me up!
Here's my fabulous, large knitting bag!

It's sturdy and is large enough to hold a big knitting project.  I made this one just for me.  With all the hand sewing on this project          ( bottom to body, flap in the front and handles onto bag, difficult to stitch with the thickness of the fabric pieces) this is the one and only of this type I will make, but so glad I made the bag.
